It is hard to beat a Hawaii vacation when you're thinking of relaxing on a beach and having fun. Hawaii is just the destination for a lovely and rejuvenating break to renew the batteries.

The Hawaiian climate is exceptional all year round with gentle warm breezes a perfect change to the frigid environment back home, and during summer you will enjoy an 85 degree sun cooled by the refreshing trade winds blowing in from off the ocean. It's not too cold and never too hot.

Perhaps you prefer traveling to just one of the islands or maybe you will want to look into spending some time on all six. Each island has something distinct to provide.

A good number of visitors make their first trip to the island of Oahu to explore Honolulu and Waikiki beach. On the South shore of Oahu you'll find Pearl Harbor along with the historic USS Arizona Memorial, however there is a whole lot more to see and enjoy in Hawaii. Even though you can get flights to the other Islands direct from the mainland, the majority of flights connect through Hawaii's main airport on Oahu.

Kauai is the most northern island in the archipelago, and is also the oldest island in Hawaii. This is a romantic island renowned for its natural beauty, and is also wonderful for an outdoor adventure getaway for travelers of all ages. The famed Coconut Coast is located on the east shore of the island, featuring wonderful sandy beaches which are a treat for sunbathing and relaxing, or if you journey to the west side of the island you'll discover what is known as the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific' - the Waimea Canyon. In the area is the Kokee State Park, a recreation area of exceptional natural beauty offering numerous trails which can be followed to explore some of the rarest birds in Hawaii and also plants that are found only in the rainforest.

Molokai lies to the south of Oahu. This island has a substantial percentage of Native Hawaiians who continue to hold fast to their culture, heritage and traditional way of life.

The next island in the chain is Lanai. This unique island has not even one stop light and everyday life is slower here than on the other islands. On Lanai are found two excellent golf courses.

Maui is the second largest Hawaiian Island and features some of the very best beaches anywhere in the world. Here you will also have opportunity to see the many Humpback whales that migrate to Maui every winter.

The Big Island is by far the largest of all the islands of Hawaii. Most of the world's naturally occurring climates are found in the Big Island. Along with black sand beaches, you will have the chance to see Kilauea, the world's most active volcano.

In the event you find it hard to decide which of the islands to enjoy, view them all by means of a Hawaii cruise. You are able to leave Honolulu Harbor and enjoy a day and a half in each island. At night, you do not need to worry about a hotel, as you'll have a room on-board your cruise ship.

If you prefer spending some time on the islands, you will find hundreds of hotel suites to select from. You might choose to book among the historic hotels which were built prior to flights to the islands or in modern hotels. In the event you have a preference for Hawaii vacation rentals, you will not have any difficulty finding one that isn't too expensive.
