Have you ever looked at how simple building an MLM business should be? Why do we make it so complicated? There really are only three things we need to learn to be successful in building our MLM business.

  1. Inviting

This is by far the most important aspect of building your successful MLM business. This is the only skill that nobody else can do for you. When you become good at inviting, you become unstoppable. This is when I see new business builders gain confidence and really take responsibility for their business. Don't stop at just one or two invites. Set yourself a goal to interact with a certain number of prospects every day. A key part of this interaction is to determine whether the person you are speaking with even qualifies for an invitation to view your business opportunity.

Taking it one step at a time, you will learn to invite your prospects to a presentation. Now, that presentation might be on a web site, a short recorded call, a web presentation, to listen to a cd, or watch a dvd. It does not matter. This is a key 'money' skill that must be learned and practiced. Once you understand and become skilled at inviting, you can really start to enjoy the journey. It will be just a matter of time before you see the growth in your business.

  1. Presenting

This is where the prospect gets his first look at your MLM business opportunity. The presentation is generally given by someone who has had some success in your company. This is an opportunity for you to learn - to learn about the process, your company and products. The presentation should focus on either the business opportunity or on the products.

Based on your conversation with your prospect, you will know whether your prospect is a candidate for you MLM business, or your product. This is a critical point - you must present either your business or your product - not both! You decide which presentations to bring potential business partners to, and which presentations to bring potential customers to.

If you are new to your MLM business, concentrate on learning to invite. There will be plenty of time before you will need to present.

  1. Training

The third skill in building a successful MLM home business is learning to train your business partners. Just as you have learned the skills of inviting and presenting, you will want to make sure that your business partners have learned these skills, too. Like any successful business model, you will want to follow the training systems that have been set up by your company or upline.

Your primary goal might be to make sure that your team is skilled at inviting. You can do this by role-playing (you be the prospect and have your business partner invite you). Or, you can use three-way calling to listen and critique an actual conversation as they talk with their prospects. You can also use 'instant messaging' to provide real-time suggestions. You may suggest they record their conversations and listen to them to see how they might have responded differently.

If you are successful training your business partners, then you are on your way to developing true, leveraged, residual income. My goal with any business that I am involved with is to always train my way out of a job.

Building a successful MLM home business is not hard. By learning how to invite, present, and train, you will see success in your business. And by teaching your team how to invite, present and train, you will have yourself a real business with real rewards.
