Canal Street may be bustling with activity but one of the major problems that have hit this place is parking space. This is because the street has to undergo construction. And with that, parking on-street has been taken out of the picture. Customers now have no space for parking.

The Citizen’s Advisory Committee is now working out recommendations on how this could be solved. They are now listing any alternatives for parking. Dave Rogers is the co-chairman of the committee and he states that the group would then be working on solutions this April. They would also be talking and checking out places where consumers could park their vehicles.

Rogers shares the responsibility of being head of the committee with Shawn Mitchell. Mitchell is a business and he owns the shop Courtesy Pawn. With that, Mitchell states that his business has become affected by the parking dilemma.

He had to set aside his duties as co-chair and he had taken full time his duties as a businessman. He has been talking it out with other business owners along the street. He had even considered selling a property he owns so that the government could use that as parking space for consumers.

Carlsbad may be a city bustling with people but Mitchell is vocal about it not extending that much help to businesses like his. He stated that he has seen the city being the home of new businesses and investors pouring in. With that, more and more buildings have been put up but the issue of parking has yet to be tackled. He has even admitted that unlike customers in the area, as a business, he does not even have a space for parking.

Mitchell continued that he had bought a building and he was thinking that he would use it for real estate. He also thought of using it as an expansion of his property. He thought of purchasing other real estate in the area. The city, he said, has not been helpful when it has not given any sure answers as to Mitchell’s purchasing the building that is standing beside McDonalds.

This has definitely left him unsure of his next move. However, if that space is used as parking area for vehicles, then it would help his business and all other businesses there as well. Other business owners have come to state that their customers have to deal with finding a space for their vehicles.

Rogers has stated that the committee is looking at possible places that could be used as parking lots. They are looking at the possible options and are even considering buying a property or maybe even leasing it just for this purpose. But they are not financially capable to do such so they are not sending out word about their plans just yet.

When there are businesses in Carlsbad, these actually help the Carlsbad real estate industry as it brings more and more people to the place. People who will go for Carlsbad homes for sale will look not only at the house and the location but the other options that they would be getting from the place. Now if parking will become a problem, that would lessen the attraction that the city has and that is not a good thing.
