A Certified Eco-Friendly Dental Office

We are proud of the fact that we are the first California Certified Eco-Friendly Dental Office. At Claremont Smile Design we believe in providing the best, most comprehensive array of dental services while keeping our commitment to green standards, and a better environment for today - and for future generations.

As an example of our commitment, during the construction process of our new office, all debris was diverted to a recycling center and we used building materials such as ceiling tiles and cabinet material with recycled content. The eco-friendly approach also extends to the rest of the office.

  • Fluoride Treatment:

Fluoride is the most effective agent available to help prevent tooth decay. It is a mineral that is naturally present in varying amounts in almost all foods and water supplies. The benefits of fluoride have been well known for over 50 years and are supported by many health and professional organizations.

  • Sealants:

A sealant is a thin, plastic coating applied to the chewing surface of molars, premolars and any deep grooves (called pits and fissures) of teeth. More than 75% of dental decay begins in these deep grooves. Teeth with these conditions are hard to clean and are very susceptible to decay. A sealant protects the tooth by sealing deep grooves, creating a smooth, easy to clean surface.

The benefits of orthodontic treatment often go beyond the obvious physical changes of an improved bite and straighter teeth; it's also a great way to improve a person's overall self-image. While having beautiful straight teeth is important, even more important is the need to alleviate any potential health problems associated with the teeth or jaw. Crooked teeth or jaw problems may contribute to improper cleaning of teeth, leading to tooth decay and, possibly, gum disease or total tooth loss.

Orthodontic problems that go untreated can lead to chewing and digestion difficulties, speech impairments, and abnormal wear of tooth surfaces. Over time, excessive strain on gum tissue and the bone that supports the teeth can affect the jaw joints leading to problems such as headaches or face and neck pain.
