Summer's almost here and there's a Chino Hills hair salon that's thinking about you.

In fact, when it comes to looking and feeling great, your Chino Hills hair stylist from The Den may be one of the best friends you can depend on. The hair care professionals at the The Den Salon know the ravages of the Inland Empire heat and the damage it can do to your hair. And if you plan on cooling off by taking a plunge in a chlorine-filled pool, be assured you're hair will get a chemical beat down!

The hair stylists from The Den Salon want you to do your hair a favor, be nice to it...no wait...LOVE your hair with some tender care! Here are some simple tips for BEAUTIFUL SUMMER HAIR!

Begin by trimming your dead split ends before summer starts. This will help you have a healthy head start for summer and it will let you keep your "kissed by the sun" hair until the fall.

You can also start conditioning your hair before summer begins. Treat your hair to a series of weekly deep-conditioning treatments. Ask your stylist for advice on choosing a product for your hair type. Kerastase has some great conditioning regiments available.

As you already know, the Chino Hills summer heat can really can dry your hair out so switch your products. Instead of using products that add body and shine, switch to those that add moisture and contain sunscreens. Be aware that sunscreens for hair are not very strong so if you plan to be a sun goddess at the river or the lake, buy a few

hats or scarves. This will help protect your hair and scalp.

Also, try your best to skip all the heat appliances for the summer. Blow dryers, flat

irons and curling irons should be put away until September.

Try new styles that use your hair's natural texture. If you have to use your blow dryer, make sure you use a heat-protecting styling product that will shield your hair.

If your hair is suffering from a little dryness or it lacks that usual luster, try adding a few drops of sesame oil (it has a natural UV protector) to the ends of your hair before you hit the pool or the beach. Nothing will fade your beautiful hair color faster than the sun, salt and pool chemicals.

You can also try this refreshing tip. Herbal tea rinses for the hair. Use lemon or chamomile for blonde's, strong black tea for brunette or black hair and red ginger for red heads. This is so easy to do. Boil one gallon of water, add four tea bags for 3 to 5 minutes. Let cool to room temp. After shampooing and conditioning place a large bowl in the sink and lean over it, flipping your hair over your head. Pour the tea over your head letting it drip into the bowl. Fasten your ends in a clip and place a shower cap on your head. Let sit for ten minutes. Shampoo and condition.

Be braid-full. Not only does a braid look chic for summer it also keeps your hair contained tightly from harsh rays from the sun. Shampoo & condition and add a leave-in conditioner with sunscreen to protect the hair from the sun's harsh rays.

Fasten with a snag free elastic band. And as an ADDED BONUS: your hair will look fabulous for the party after the sun goes down. Take the braid out and shake your hair.

Beautiful, instant waves without the fuss.

Enjoy you're summer and we look forward to seeing you at The Den Salon.
