Hawaii is one of the best vacation spots in the world, known for its tropical beauty, white pristine beaches, variety of exciting adventures, and feelings of tranquility and peace. It is absolutely unlike any other place in the world and has many island adventures just waiting to be explored. The problem is that there are so many choices among the islands, along with the many Hawaii rentals available, that narrowing the choice can be difficult.

Vacation packages, of course, offer the best savings because they often include airfare and car rental along with the cost of your accommodations. Although many only consider hotels when visiting an exotic location, in actuality, condos, homes, and just about any other situation that provides a roof over one's head can be rented. However, the more amenities offered, the lower the cost on other expenses. For example, dining out at every meal is something that should be taken under consideration when selecting the best source of lodging because it can add a significant amount to expenses very quickly.

Each island in Hawaii offers different sights, activities, and types of entertainment and to know what's available is half the battle. The Big Island of Hawaii is the youngest island in the chain so it offers fewer good beaches, but has many other activities that will thrill any visitor. If visiting this island, however, there are a few beaches such as Anaeho'omalu which is directly behind the Royal Waikoloan Hotel, Hapuna which is a "classic" Hawaiian beach found north of Kona, and Kauna'oa which was voted the best beach in the world but has limited access through the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, all of which are well worth the trip.

Other islands can range from very urban to almost totally unspoiled. Oahu, for example, has the densest population and is best known for its urban setting. It's the home of Pearl Harbor and Waikiki Beach and offers the best selection of activities available in all the islands from water sports to museums. Kauai, on the other hand, is best known for the Na Pali coastline which is completely unspoiled. With great beaches, lots of water sports, and a unique culture it mixes the traditional with the new by including fancy restaurants right around the corner from traditional Hawaiian cuisine.

Maui is one of the top tourist destinations, second only to Oahu, and is very popular with the college sect. It's abundance of natural attractions and spectacular views, provides a great balance between city life and the raw, natural beauty of Hawaii. Off the coastline of Maui one will find Molokai which specializes in those seeking the total relaxation experience. Long, empty white sand beaches and beautiful forests make it one of the best islands for those who just want to get away from it all.

If budget is not an issue, Lanai might be for you. Known as the 'Private Isle' it only has 3,000 full-time residents and it is best known for having beautiful beaches, fabulous golfing venues, and thrilling views from several hiking trails in the high mountains. When visiting here two luxurious hotels offer the level of sophistication and elegance sought by many. Niihau, on the other hand, is a private island owned by 300 Hawaiians and only those who receive a personal invitation, or who take a helicopter tour, are allowed to visit the island. As such there are no restaurants, hotels, or roads so visitors must be prepared to "rough it" when visiting there.

Hawaii is best known for its Polynesian culture as well as the warm and welcoming nature of the people. Along with unique food choices, such as macadamia pancakes, pigs roasted in pits, and poi, which is a native staple to the Hawaiian people, just by experiencing the ambiance one will walk away with a new appreciation of the culture, the people, and the opportunity to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When added to the plethora of activities that will fill any holiday easily, the only thing that will be left wanting is the opportunity to visit again and again.

As mentioned previously, the hardest part of any Hawaiian vacation is choosing only one site. By selecting one of the many Hawaii rentals available in any of the islands, one is given the opportunity to feel as if they have become a resident even if only for a short period of time. Homes, condos, hotels, apartments, and just about anything else you can imagine can be rented and, depending on budget, one can easily find a rental that will fit the size of the travel group and leave plenty of money left over for extra-curricular activities. The Aloha spirit and the many types of experiences available continue to draw visitors back again and again. For visitors, Hawaii is waiting with open arms to say E Komo Mai, Welcome.
