Starting any course of piano lessons for beginners is the same as anything else you'll ever try to do - you have to give it time and commitment.

You're not going to learn to play overnight, but with some focus and dedication you will definitely see great results from your efforts, especially if you follow a structured course or program.

After using this program for a while, here's what I thought of it, good and bad:

THE GOOD:

  1. There are 3 levels - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced lessons, so you can start at whatever level of piano playing you're at. I was a total beginner so I started right at the beginning. If I had some experience of playing the piano before I could have just jumped straight into the intermediate or advanced level.

  2. It's a very structured course - they've taken a lot of time to combine written music lessons with video lessons, and audio piano learning. In the book at each section it will refer you to what video / audio piano lesson to play now - I found it very easy to follow.

  3. This is a comprehensive piano learning system - right from beginner lessons up to advanced learning piano techniques.

  4. You work through at your own pace, and each part builds on the previous piano lessons

THE BAD:

  1. You have to be prepared to put in the effort to both work through the material to learn the piano and practice your keyboard lessons.

  2. I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of material you get with with this course, although it does all fit together very well and everything has it's place - you just have to stay with it.

I'd never bought anything like this online before (just a few clothes and shoes, but never anything like a beginner piano lessons course), so I was a bit hesitant.

I put my name and email in for the free piano lessons they give you, but then I saw that there's an 8 week refund guarantee with the course, and in all honesty, my thoughts were "I'll try it and if I don't like it I'll ask for my money back"

I'm very glad I tried this - I really enjoyed learning piano this way, and I can now play some tunes on the piano (I played some at a party I was at before Christmas, and everyone there was really impressed).

I wouldn't have been particularly musical and have never kept up any music lessons, so I suppose it was a bit of a surprise to them that I could play piano at all!

I was very pleased with myself!

Happy piano playing!
