How Do You Know What A Kitten Wants By Its Meow?

I'm going to give you three, actually four different meows.

A silent meow - that means he's hungry and wants you to feed him. If you feed him at a scheduled time and you won't get that meow. The second one which we'll call the normal meow means he wants something from you, maybe to go outside or he wants you to give him some type attention at that time. The third meow is like a sigh and a cry all in one. He really wants some affection, asking, please give me some attention now. If you're not giving him any attention or don't respond, he will become very, very sad. So you want to make sure you always give him all the attention he seeks, and show him that you love him.

When you hear any of these three meows, and make sure you recognize them and can tell the difference, this will help you understand your kittens individual needs. These three meows are considered major to your kitten, and you should regard them as very important meows.

As I told you, the first one is because he is hungry; the second one is because he wants to go outside; and the third one is because he is not getting any attention and he wants you to give him hug and kisses and show some him some love. There is a fourth one and that is generally a cry for help. He will just sit by the door and the meow will be very low. It will almost seem like he is hissing at you. He really wants to go outside, or he doesn't want to be around you, he'll wants to get away from you because he doesn't feel like he is safe, protected or loved. You never want this to happen. If you hear this meow, make sure you deal with this and identify the problem right away because this cat is going to run away and will never come back.
