B&B Stays on Prince Edward Island

Just because you have to travel on a budget does not mean that you have to sleep on the ground or floor in a sleeping bag. An economical and comfortable way to go is to book space along your itinerary at various bed and breakfast houses as an alternative to PEI cottages and hotels. A bed and breakfast can be as simple as someone's extra bedroom in their home that is rented out to travelers passing through the area. The cost for the night usually included breakfast thrown in, the morning, which is where the B&B gets its name.

Rather than private homes some Bed and Breakfast establishments are owner operated solely for business purposes, but they are not needlessly expensive for a vacation rental and most on Prince Edward Island, are willing to go the extra mile to ensure traveler comfort during their stay. B&Bs are unique and can be found in many locations, so look for them in the area where you want to tour. In other words, if you're planning on staying in the city, town or village, where you can attend the cinema or theater, then look for a place nearby in the urban neighborhoods.

Maybe you want to get away from towns and villages, in order to slow down and to take in the countryside. There are literally hundreds of B&Bs located in the south, east or west coasts near the sea or just back from the shoreline. The choice is up to you. The bed and breakfasts in these areas range from small one room owner operated to huge Victorian converted mansions that can handle a number of clients at one time. Narrow down your search by asking your travel agent for a listing of B&Bs or go online and connect with the PEI cottages and hotels Center for advice on where to stay.

If your vacation goal is to explore the three coastal drives then ask for a listing of bed and breakfast places along the way. The coastal drives include the North Cape Coastal, the Central Coastal and the Points East Coastal Drives. Traveling through the various towns and communities will put you in touch with bed and breakfast places unique to that particular coastal drive where you can take in Cavendish Beach, Green Gables or even a round of golf. And, look out for the wildlife and waterfowl. Be prepared to see eagles, silver fox, seals and any number of waterfowl during your journey .
