When it comes to advertising, the first step to get people to take notice and read your Ad is your headline.

Now, you're headline is promise to your customer. Whether you're in MLM, Network Marketing or even have an offline business, this topic is crucial to your business. And it can either break or make your business.

Your headline is a promise, a promise to the customer that you will be delivering something of value if they keep reading your ad. Think about it for a moment, how many times have you attempted to write an Ad, where your actual content had nothing to do with the actual headline. Think about it, I'm sure you're going to see this is true.

So if you're content did not deliver on what your promised in your headline, therefore you broke a promise, right? How do you think customers will perceive you from then on?

Writing a compelling headline should ALWAYS be the first step to creating of your Ads. The BIGGEST mistake most people make in writing their Ads, is that they start with the content first and then figure out the headline.

If you're headline is the promise, and your content is your promise kept, how can you keep a promise that you have not made yet? Does that make sense?

You must ALWAYS start with your headline first and build your content around it. This will ensure that your message stays congruent through out and the message is delivered.

As Brian Clark says - "Copy writing is an 80/20 game. 8 out 10 people will read your headline but only 2 out of 10 will read the rest".

How would your business change if the extras 80% read your Ads?

Therefore mastering the art of your headline should be your top priority, because the goal of your headline is to get your reader to read the next sentence.

But how do you master the art of headline writing so that you attract customers like Bees to Honey? I'll talk about it on my next article.

This is what copy writing is all about, creating an expectation and then delivering on that promise with your next lines or content.

Will you break a promise from now on?
