Maybe it was at a home party, hotel meeting or an online presentation, the presentation was convincing and now you've got yourself a new network marketing business. So the question becomes: Where do you go from here? Today I want to give you a few practical steps that will get you off to a great start, whether you are using online or offline strategies.

First of all you need to make a commitment to yourself. Go stand in front of your mirror, hold your right hand up and say these words: "I do solemnly swear to persevere in my new business. I will not give up under any circumstances. I believe with all of my heart, that my business is the right vehicle to carry me to my dreams. I commit to learn my craft. I will learn from those who are successful and I will implement all that I learn. When I master one aspect of my business I promise to always teach it to someone else." Now that you have done that, put those words in writing, sign and date. Put this document in a prominent place like your computer, work station or bathroom mirror. It will serve as a constant reminder of the commitment you just made.

Now it is time to determine what you want to accomplish in your business. Articulate clearly how much by when. For example you may say that I want to be earning $10,000 per month in one year or that you want 2,000 people in your downline in the next 3 years. The purpose of articulating quantity and time is for measurement of your success in obtaining those goals and the determination of your overall MLM strategy. For example a person who wants to add 600 people to their downline each year, would not be best served by doing home parties, but instead should consider using some form of internet marketing or mass advertising.

This brings us to strategy. What method or methods of marketing do you intend to utilize with your business? Again, you need to set clear and measurable goals for yourself in these areas. For example if you are working offline, you might commit to hosting a home party 2 nights per week. If you were working online, your goal might be the writing and submission of 1 article per day for 100 days to 90 article directories. The key is that your activities be measurable, so you can evaluate them for effectiveness and also make corrections or adjustments as needed. No matter what strategy you utilize, the importance of that strategy is the continual generation of leads for your business. If a strategy is not generating leads, it needs to be dropped and another strategy should be deployed in its place.

The final piece is relationship building with those leads. Take time to create value for your prospects. Give them information that is useful for their lives, so that you become a valuable resource to them. Training and information are two of the greatest tools you have for creating value in the eyes of your prospects. As you provide these items to your prospects, you now have a natural place to introduce your business or product to that individual as well. The more interaction you have had with the individual, the more natural this introduction will be.

Take these tips and the excitement of your new network marketing business and set out to achieve your dreams.

Getting the right start with your new network marketing business is critical to your long term success. Let Carl Willis teach you the skills necessary to succeed in building your MLM business.
