There are 4 simple routes to learning Excel:
• Register with a Trainer
• Train Yourself
• Acquire Tutorial Software
• Combine All 3 Above
Register With A Trainer
I already told you that even fewer trainers know Excel. So if you must register with one, you have to be careful to choose somebody who is genuine and not a quack (see the last issue of this column).

How do you know a good trainer?
• A good trainer must actually have the skill provably on Excel
• A good trainer must have a track record of past clients he has trained successfully on the job (Excel), and they are doing well on their and business with the skills they learnt from him.
• A good trainer must have the equipment (system) which he uses to train students/clients, and he must have them use them in his class, and not just be giving notes/handouts which are of little or no use (actually those notes are more or less useless). A good teacher should teach people by making them work with the programme on the computer.
• A good trainer should be affordable
• A good trainer should give adequate attention to make his students/clients master the programme.
• Now most importantly, if you will register a trainer, you know who to call, don’t you? That is where you will get the best value for your money.

Train Yourself
Well, this is a secret that trainers don’t usually leak out (and of course I’m a trainer too). It is truth that you can actually train yourself on computer application (including Excel). It takes you to have a system of your own or a ready access to one any time. Here you follow clues on the menu commands, toolbars, and on the Help menu of the programme (Excel) to learn and master the programme. Only that it takes patience and commitment, but what you learn easily sticks to your memory because you learn by practice. So that is that about Train Yourself. It is a secret I just gave you!

Acquire Tutorial Software
This is another interesting route to mastering Excel which you only get here. You don’t get this value of information elsewhere. Actually, we always give our clients opportunity to acquire any of the tutorial software of the particular software (programme) we take (teach) them on. For example, we have Excel Tutorial Software. It is very interesting and interactive to use. When you are running it on your system, it’s like you have a home tutor right before you teaching you right on the very programme itself. It is a great product to say the least. With it, with or without a trainer, you’ll find yourself mastering Excel. You can always get it from a trusted dealer (yours truly).

Combine All 3 Above
This is the best of all! You know I can tell you that from experience because that is what I used, which has brought to the status I am today—what people call guru, expert, professor. I want to bring as many as possible of my clients into that position too, and I’ve started doing it. So, combine all the three methods above, even you will be shocked at the progress you’ll make, take my word for it, it is the truth, I’ll never deceive you.
