Success principles are really simple to follow. There are many people in the world who want to follow these principles but they can’t. Success doesn’t come automatically. We need to put efforts to achieve that. Success doesn’t come once in a lifetime. It comes daily. We must achieve it through our work. A long term goal can be achieved when the short term goals are being fulfilled. I am discussing a simple strategy how you can easily develop a daily success habit.

There are two types of activities on a daily basis. These are "Present-based activities" and "Future-based activities". Present-based activities allow us to maintain a certain level of comfort and happiness in our life. No matter how much time and dedication we put in these activities, they will not create any significant change in our present and future lifestyle.
Future-based activities are the source of change in our life. They create a new and better lifestyle. Future-based activities will not provide immediate results but it will create a brighter future.

Let me give a classic example of present & future based activities.

We can spend a lot of time cleaning our house, cooking a delicious food, gossiping with our friends or chatting in "Facebook". These activities give us instant pleasure but will never permit us to move in a bigger and better house or better lifestyle. These are present-based events.

On the other hand, we can read positive mental attitude books, listen motivational CDs, attend educational seminars and apply success principles. We can regularly exercise, eat healthy foods, eat five to six smaller meals. These activities will definitely cause a better health and lifestyle.

Only future based events will create our desired future. If we are always busy all day long with only present based events, we will be guaranteeing our future lifestyle to look the one we currently have in the present. All events are either present based or future based. They will either take you to your future or keep you in the present.

When we make a list of daily activities, we may be confused whether an activity is present-based or future-based because either could be justified. The deciding factor will be based on the actual goals we have set for ourselves in the different areas of life. We first exactly need to know what we want to achieve in future. The simplest way to differentiate an activity to be present-based or future-based is to just ask ourselves, "If I do this one event and nothing else, could I achieve my future goal?"

Just because we are working hard and staying busy, doesn’t mean we are heading to a brighter future. Let’s look out the surrounding of our life. Is it changing or going around in circles? If it’s not changing, let’s take a moment and think, "Am I focusing only in present based events or future based events?" Only future based events will create a desired future.
