UPDATE!!!!! Read the update at the bottom of the post....

'Cedrick Harris is leaving the Numis Network?'

The Internet Marketing / Network Marketing profession is a-buzz today with the news that Cedrick Harris is leaving the Numis Network. Hmmmmm, he joined earlier this year and is exiting the company already? View this video and continue reading....

'Another opportunity came along that looked more 'advantageous.'

I do know a few people inside Numis, however, I do NOT know the real reason for Cedrick Harris leaving, nor do I care. That said, I would imagine it's for one of two reasons:

  1. Another opportunity came along that looked more 'advantageous.' Whether it is the business opportunity or the company courted Mr. Harris, who knows. Either way, is that the TRUE spirit of a leader? To be seduced so easily or to see a new, 'shinier' opportunity that he jumps ship only months after joining Numis? Is that really someone who should be followed? His team has a difficult choice to make. Follow him and risk their own credibility with their teams, or stay put and continue to develop their own leadership skills, continue to develop their teams and prove what leaders they really are. Remember, your teams joined YOU, not Cedrick Harris. Your first priority is to your team and no one else!

  2. Maybe Cedrick left because of 'behind the scenes' issues that the company has. I don't think this is the case, however, IF it were, than I go back to joining new companies right off the bat. It is risky. It's not to say that some won't make it, however, MOST will not. Did Cedrick see the writing on the wall? I'm not sure this is the case, as I do believe Numis to be a good opportunity for those who will remain, but I, personally, am never certain on any new company. In five years when Numis is still around, I'll feel as though the opportunity is 'safer' and any kinks have been worked out.

'...a long-term, 'FUTURE (not current) household name' kind of company'

So, all that said, what is a TRUE leader? Someone who builds a team with credibility, with inspiration, with leadership. Someone who will stay the course, build a steady, sustainable, long-term business and coach his or her team to success. One who KNOWS how to carefully partner with a company that has all the qualifications of a long-term, 'FUTURE (not current) household name' kind of company. I've written about these qualifications before in this blog, so I won't go through it again, but there are five to look for when partnering with a company.

'She's pissed...'

I was talking to a friend who joined Numis LAST WEEK simply because of the 'leadership' she thought she was partnering with on Cedrick's team. She's pissed, and rightly so. She will be getting her investment back as she doesn't want to go to new 'said' company, but also doesn't want to hang around without the leadership she thought she was partnering with. That sucks. THAT gives our profession a bad name. Luckily, she has a steady belief in network marketing and will regroup and decide what to do next.

Whether you're with Numis or any other company and feeling a little 'unsettled,' now is the time to do something about the situation. You will NOT find success with even an inkling of unsettledness (is that a word?)...it is today! :) When something is 'off,' you must find a place where everything aligns. Only then will you be aligned with success.

I have been approached several times about Numis. I sat in an 'opportunity meeting' only two months ago led by Cedrick Harris and let me tell you, he was PASSIONATE...(scoff, scoff)...about Numis. As I said, I do not know the real reason Cedrick is leaving so I shouldn't be so cynical, but I do know this. There are A LOT of upset people within Numis who feel deceived. I am glad I didn't join just because everyone, it seems, in Internet Marketing joined Numis. It was tempting, however, I stayed true to my decisions and I feel good about that.

'...a team culture of successful, self-motivated, go-getters...'

I have a home that is 'aligned' with success. We have a legendary team who have been with the company from day 1 only 5 years ago. Years 5 - 10 is when wealth is built with a company. That is where we are now. Wealth is NOT built by jumping from one opportunity to the next. This team is responsible for cultivating more millionaires in network marketing than any other, and we aren't going anywhere. We see an opportunity in the market and we're getting after it with or without you! I'd love to partner WITH you and show all the 'unsettled' network marketers out there what it's like to really feel aligned. We have a team culture of successful, self-motivated, go-getters who just need some training and development in order to truly run with this business! It's nothing like what I have experienced prior to this company in network marketing.

UPDATE!! I was referred to a video Cedrick released in response to the buzz. It was a 25 minute rant on how he is staying connected to his Numis team, but will not be continuing to actively build the business. He will be building multiple streams of income, etc. by utilizing other companies and tools. He continued to bash 'people' who were voicing their opinions about his decision, who I know, are on his team...not quite the warm and fuzzy 'team' feeling from my point-of-view. When it's all said and the done, I personally think the video was damaging to Cedrick. Staying connected with a team is the not the same when YOU, as the leader, are not actively building. The team will second-guess their efforts when their leader has made it very clear that he isn't actively building, 'but will be there....yadda, yadda, yadda.' I'm not sure this is the leader I'd want to follow, but that's just me!
