Discover how to declutter your garage on a regular basis. Believe it or not, most people leave their vehicles out in the driveway all the time. Usually this happens because there in no room left in the garage to park the vehicle. Many garages are filled with a bunch of junk.

Lets start the decluttering process by assessing all of the items in the garage, one by one. Consider how long the item has been stored in the garage. If you have not used an item in about tree of four year, then it is time to get rid of it.

One of the things that people commonly hold on to is partially used cans of paint. Time to get rid of all those old paint cans. Especially if it is a custom-mixed color that you purchased a long time ago and bought about and have not used since.

There are lots of items that make their way into the garage. The next item that most people have in the garage is sporting equipment. Do not keep any sporting items that are broken. No one wants to play tennis with that broken racket.

Other things, often stored here, are auto parts. If you no longer own the vehicle that the parts belong to, then get rid of them. If the item is broken then, of course, dispose of it properly. The next thing to evaluate is your ladders, make sure that they are in good condition, safe and sturdy enough to be used.

Next, some people also have bicycles, tricycles and other recreational vehicles stored in here. If you have a bike that is in poor condition and cannot be repaired, then toss it out. If you children have outgrown an items, maybe it is time to donate (if it is in good condition) to someone who can actually use it. After all, it is just sitting there useless at this point.

Go through and evaluate your tools. Think about how often you use each item, get rid of any items that you never use. If it is broken and cannot be fixed then, of course, throw it away. Any tools that are used often should be stored either in a tool box or on a pegboard with hooks.

That way, it gets these items up off of the floor and makes them easily accessible. This will free up floor space, that you will need, to park your vehicle.
