Everyone has different needs and wants for that matter and that’s why when it comes to designing a kitchen make sure you plan and coordinate in planning, designing, implementation and installing stages because if you don’t like something you can quickly change and adjust to your needs and requirements.
What a lot of people do wrong is when they are designing a kitchen they start designing and planning from the kitchen work tops and unit. Although this is very important to do I believe it is better to do this after you have planned out the ceiling. It is always a wise step to go from top to bottom. So what ever will fall whether it is dust or paint or the whole ceiling at least it wont have disrupted anything else because the room should be empty of everything so far.
You should also decide on the design factor if you require tiles or would you go for the shiny splash back or the usual paint on the walls. If you’re stuck on what you want let me talk you through the options fully.
Let’s start of with kitchen wall tiles. If you are putting tiles remember to shop for tiles that will suit your kitchen. No point having your tiles bright glossy yellow if you are wanting to create a traditional kitchen with brown kitchen cupboards and a black worktop. Go for tiles that will suit your kitchen and something that wont be of an eyesore.
The advantage with tiles is that you can easily clean with after you have used your kitchen for preparing your food. How ever if your are counting on putting tiles on your walls then you should think about putting matching floor tiles for that extra finish. The downside of tiles in the kitchen is that you would then need to book another tradesmen’s which could take extra time that you maybe don’t have plus buying tiles it self is expensive. So maybe you should think twice about putting tiles on your walls and floor.
If tiling is not for you then you can put metal splash back all around your walls in the kitchen. Btu doing this will not make your kitchen stylish but will have the opposite effects. So what you would need to do is balance where you use the splash back. The ideal usage is 30 to 40 cm from the kitchen worktop to the top and behind the gas cooker till the air vent. This will give you all around finish touch and a shiny atmosphere in your kitchen.
A lot of people also decide on the wrong kitchen tap. There are the kitchen mixer taps but now there are also kitchen pull out taps. People experiment with these new hose pray kitchen taps but they find that it causes a lot of water to splash down on the floor as the water is coming at a great speed and pressure. So make sure that you look into which kitchen mixer you want for your kitchen, because you don’t want something too big for your ink especially if your worktop cant be balanced properly.
Adam is an expert when it comes to choosing kitchen mixer taps and will give out advice for when you are shopping for your kitchen pull out taps.
