Mastermind groups create an opportunity for people to come together to brainstorm ideas, share information and create an action plan, thereby pushing each other toward ultimate success and prosperity. Since as long as people have been here on Earth there have probably been informal mastermind groups. Napoleon Hill is the first person to give a name to this specific organization and phenomenon, "a mastermind alliance", and write about its incredible, positive, transformative power.

Napoleon Hill wrote several books aboutmastermind groups. In his famous "Think and Grow Rich" book he introduces the concept of the mastermind and explains importance of taking part in a "mastermind alliance" if you want to create abundance and great success. Hill defines a mastermind group as "a group consisting of one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose". According to Napoleon Hill there are three elements that are necessary for a successful mastermind group. Here’s your checklist:

  1. Friendly. Throughout his books Hill strongly emphasizes the word "friendly"! Yes, "friendly" seems like a mundane concept in our modern world and a simple thing that can be gained in life by talking to, well, your friends, but this is not always the case. Part of the power of a mastermind group is having several people committed to help you succeed, and here’s the important part, people who don’t have any limiting beliefs about you and what you are capable of. It’s both liberating and inspiring to brainstorm with people who have no set agenda for your life.

  2. Growth-oriented. In "Master Key to Riches" another book of Hill’s, he says, "Every mind needs friendly contact with other minds, for food of expansion and growth." To him, mastermind groups are established in order to create an environment to nurture and encourage growth within an individual through group discussions. Within a mastermind group, when the group is focused on a person’s specific challenges or goals, there is a synergy that happens that brings forth the amazing power of creative thinking.

  3. Sharing Mind Power, Life Experience and Information. In Napoleon Hill’s third book entitled, "The Law of Success", he adds the third necessary element to a have a dynamic mastermind group; the power of sharing. The mastermind group structure helps to organize useful knowledge and practical experienced that can be shared. This "sharing" creates a collective encyclopedia from which each member can draw information and get important questions answered more quickly.

These three elements are key for a strong and effective mastermind group and should be on everyone’s checklist when searching for a group to join. Learn more about how you can join a Mastermind Group. Visit our website: www.mastermind-group.com.
