One of the biggest factors that determines your long-term success as a life coach, or your ability to attract clients, or anything else you commit to is the reasons WHY you do what you do. The only reason why anything ever happens is because people have reasons to do them. Whether for good or bad. The reason why most life coaches quit is because they didn’t have a big enough WHY. Their WHY wasn’t bigger than their fears, or their WHY ran out of gas.

There are two types of motivators - temporary and long-term. Obviously, you want to look for the long-term. Most people have temporary motivators. There’s really only one motivator or reason WHY that works. And that’s CONTRIBUTION. Anything less than contribution will ultimately fail, fizzle out and die. Contribution is the desire to serve humanity and make a difference in the world. Contribution is about a cause or purpose bigger than you. Bigger than any specific individual. Contribution is unconditional love that expands endlessly the more it is used. That’s why this type of WHY never dies out and continues to expand past any obstacle, fear, failure, doubt or otherwise you may experience along the way.

Anything else besides contribution is temporary. It’s either a destination or a selfish reason or both. Any destination you seek has an endpoint and a completion. Many champions turn off the switch once they become champions because they have nothing left to go for. They reached their goal. For example, motivators like success, wealth, a specific dollar amount, achievement of a goal, fame, power, approval or anything else is temporary and will fizzle out. It will either fizzle out once you reach it or it will fizzle out because you’ve given up your hope that you can reach it. For most people, it’s the latter. Contribution has no fizzle point.

Many of you reading this would probably like to come from this place of contribution, but have something in the way. Doubt, fear, worry. You gotta pay the bills. You have so much stress and other things that you just can’t seem to get to contribution. Well, contribution is the very thing that overcomes all those things. All those things are selfish reasons WHY, pointing inward. Contribution is pointing outwards towards others. When you decide to contribute, you don’t have time to worry or be stressed or to be selfish, because contribution is the opposite of all that.

This article isn’t so much about earning loads of money or learning how to attract clients, although those things will certainly happen when you come from the place of contribution. This article is about experiencing life to its fullest. This article is about being fulfilled moment to moment, experiencing happiness and joy moment to moment in life. And that only comes through contribution and a fierce desire to serve humanity. When you have that then fear just drops by the wayside.

Many of you know you have huge potential inside you. And not just potential for money, wealth or fame. The potential you feel is the huge power you have to serve humanity, to make a difference. You know you have a song to sing, a gift to give. And you’d probably like to give it fully before you die. That will happen if you can learn to come from a place of contribution.

And being a successful life coach, learning to attract clients and be successful, all that stuff will be like falling off a log. It will be a byproduct of your huge desire and committed action to contribution. You can reach your potential. You can learn to contribute and experience fulfillment moment to moment. There is no destination. Fulfillment and joy can only be experienced moment to moment. Contribution is the same. That’s why contribution is the ultimate motivator, the ultimate reason WHY. Contribution never fizzles, never dies out. Contribution only dies when you retreat back to a selfish state and stop placing your attention on your purpose to serve humanity. May you continue to cultivate your contribution for the rest of your life.
