Bramberg am Wildkogel (819 meters a.s.l.) is located in the county Zell am See in the Austrian federal state of Salzburg. Bramberg is still widely unknown amongst winter sportsmen. However, it becomes more and more popular. During winter Bramberg am Wildkogel is especially recommendable for families with little children. In summer the region at the south side of the Wildkogel with a height of 2,225 meters is a popular destination for climbers and mountaineers.
Since Bramberg am Wildkogel isn't the most popular ski resort in Austria and not a hotspot of ski tourism it is the ideal spot for everyone who is looking for a relaxing ski experience rather than for parties and aprés ski fun til the morning hours. In addition, Bramberg has also something to offer besides the trails. Everyone who is fed up with skiing can witch to the sled and enter the 14 km toboggan run. It is lighted and one of the longest toboggan runs in the world. You would like to fly high? In Bramberg you also have the opportunity for paragliding and hang-gliding.
Due to its geographic location of 819 meters Bramberg am Wildkogel can offer warm temperatures and many sun hours to its guests. Bramberg is about 118 km away from Salzburg, the capital of the federal state of the same name. It is definitely worth the way!
Bramberg has about 4,000 citizens and numerous hotels in Bramberg am Wildkogel acommodate a multiple of this number each year. Everyone who prefers self-catering will find lovely holiday apartments in Bramberg. Since Bramber isn't such a popular destination as Zell am See, for instance, it shouldn't be a problem to find accommodation even during the peak season. whatsoever it is always recommendable to book early in advance!
The ski resort Wildkogek offers 54 km of designated trails og which 25 km are marked as easiest (blue). 20 km as intermediate (red) and 9 km are marked as most difficult (black). They are serviced by 15 lifts that will bring you uphill safely. 9 of them are surface lifts, 4 chair lifts and 1 is a gondola. The skiarena Wildkogel caters especially to the needs of families with little children. There is a special children's play area called Kogel- Mogel-Kinderland located at the mountain lodge. Here children will find a skicarrussel and magic carpets and can learn in a playful way. Future skiers and riders up from the age of 2 1/2 can visit the Kogel-Mogel Kindergarten which is located in the panroama restaurant. Know your children in good hands while you explore the great trails of the resort! Suitable trails for families can mainly be found around the lifts Pfeifferköpfl, Braunkogel and Gensbichalm. However, this doesn't mean Wildkogel isn't a great resort for advanced skiers and riders, too! There are plenty of trails for all those who are looking for a real adventure.
