Kids cowboy boots come in a variety of styles including some much more exotic looks as well. When your little one is ready to slip on their first pair of cowboy boots, do you buy for comfort or style? Do you aim to capture their imagination or do you buy something more traditional? Below I wrangle these questions and hope to get you feeling a bit more confident in purchasing a pair of boots for your child.

Which cowboy boots you buy for your child will depend on what their use will be. If you plan on using these boots for more formal outings then you should definitely skip the more exotic colors and styles. On the other hand, if they will be wearing the boots for playtime then by all means let your child's imagination run wild and let them have fun with it. They only have one chance to be a kid, so if they want a pair of red alligator skin boots then have at it!

Price, above all else, should be your main concern. Kids can't be bothered to keep their footwear in good condition, so don't break the bank on a pair of boots for the young ones. You may think a pair of cowboy boots for kids will last a long time, but this just isn't the case. Kids feet grow fast and if the boots are for playtime you may find yourself with a mangled pair of boots sooner than later.

Think season when buying boots. If you're buying for the colder weather then make your purchase in early Fall. You don't want to buy cowboy boots for colder weather near the end of Winter only to put them in the closet for next year. By the time next year rolls around your child's foot will have grown. The same holds true for warmer weather.

Comfort is always a big concern for any type of footwear. You child will not be happy or excited to wear their cowboy boots if they're uncomfortable. Make sure to buy the boots a little bigger than necessary to give your kid's foot room to grow as they grow so quickly. Wearing a thicker pair of socks until they have grown into the boot can suffice for the extra space. Also, consider the toe style of the boot. Cowboy boots come in rounded toe, square toe, and pointed toe style. Giving your child's feet and toes the most room to breathe and grow is concern number one here. Their feet are still developing and should be properly fitted for that reason.

Whether your child will be playing cowboys and Indians or going out on the town with his folks, you should consider the above reasons and scenarios when purchasing kids cowboy boots. Make the little one happy and you will earn their trust for future endeavors as well.
