It is a known fact that everyone knows some language or the other. In earlier times, people remained contended with knowing only their mother tongue. Of late however, knowing different languages is seen to add more credibility to a person’s profile. Being able to communicate in languages more than one leaves him with better opportunities on the career front. There are now schools which let you take up any language course. Though it is best to learn any new language in the early stages of one’s life, it is never too late to learn.

The purpose of such a course can be enlisted as follows:

For Academic purposes: In case you want to go abroad to a foreign university to take up a particular course of study, it is of utmost importance that you are acquainted with the language pertaining to that particular university. For example, if you want to study from an English University and haven’t been to an English school, you will be asked to attend an English course before enrolling yourself. This is to ensure that you are able to follow the medium of instruction.

For Business purposes: If you are entering the world of business, you need to have your options open. Business has no limits and the wider it spreads, the better are its returns. Knowing different languages gives a person an upper hand in business. A client tends to readily put his trust in someone who can communicate with him in his language. The marketing of any product to foreign countries also demands a working knowledge of that particular country or place. The names of the products need to be translated into the native language of the countries flawlessly to avoid embarrassment. It is also for this reason that companies prefer people who know many languages.

Other purposes: The medical, legal and tourism industries also require people who have diverse knowledge about different languages. Tourism for one, targets people from all countries and so, knowing different languages helps it in better promotion of its ‘commodity’.
