Chicago Flower and Garden Show March 5-13th Navy Pier 2011 Garden Gourmet
Chicago Flower and Garden Show will again be held at the Famous Navy Pier on March 5th-13th. Opening day is this Saturday and with something for everyone it is sure to be in full bloom by noon the first day.
Local businesses whether a nursury, architectual landscaper or a pool designer, you will find a huge selection of goodies for the home and garden enthusiast. The Chicago Flower Show is approximately the length of 5 football fields, so bring your walking shoes and a shopping bag for all your goodies.
Speaking of goodies there is a full schedule of over 25 local Chefs that will be holding cooking demonstrations every day of the show on the hour. The Hot Plate of the day? Well using fresh herbs and garden ingredients of course. Preparation techniques of top chefs and secret short cuts only found in the finest restaurants across Europe and the U.S.
One such chef duo, are Miriam Vigoa and Kristi Linebaugh, from Winter Haven Florida. Miriam Vigoa is the creator of The Canary Island Garlic and Herb Olive Oil "The Splash". A family tradition for making seasoned olive oils that has been passed down for over 200 years. The Splash has been the staple of their restaurant in Florida, Cafe Latte Coffee House and Eatery, located two stoplights from the World's Largest LEGOLAND. Cafe Latte is the first and oldest heart healthy cafe in Polk County. The first cafe to offer Vegetarian, Vegan and Raw menu items featuring the Splash. Now they have done over 350 cooking demos across the country sharing their signature short cuts featured in "Easy Recipes for the Busy Family".
Miriam Vigoa and Kristi Linebaugh will be Splashing up a storm on the main stage at the Garden Gourmet on March 7th at 3:30 they have some surprises up their chef coat sleeves, so pop on over and enjoy their samples and get some of the good stuff.
