Choices of Pregnancy and Fertility Herbs

Herbs are often part of a natural infertility treatment. The usage of herbs to cure infertility or boost fertility has been recognized since centuries ago. It is a part of the healing tradition in China (traditional Chinese Medicines), Indonesia (Jamu healing), India (Ayurveda medicine), Mexico and by some other tribes in the world such as the Mediterranean region

To improve fertility the herbs are usually served as compounds of several herbs which should work together and create a specific desired therapeutic effect. As a matter of fact, there is no single herb that can work as a stand alone herb to cure a disease. There are certain principles of compounding which should be followed to make the formula work as effectively.

This herb is considered as the most useful fertility herb due to its high vitamin content and protein richness. It is used to strengthen the uterus and beneficial to the whole body. It is also a good source of calcium and magnesium which provide a relaxing effect and improve fertility as well. It holds almost every trace minerals which are essential to the glands.

Nettle Leaves (Urtica sioica)

This herb provides general nourishment to the whole body system especially to the kidneys and adrenal glands. It is used as tonic compounds to strengthen the uterus. It is good source of chlorophyll and some minerals which are very useful for proper function of the hormonal system. It is usually prescribed for young girls who start menstruation and for older women entering their menopause.

Raspberry Leaves (Rubus ideaus)

This is a popular herb and well known due to its tonic and astringent effect and at the same time provides a level of relaxation of the uterus. It is a good source of vitamins and works best in combination with the red clover herb. Because of its effect to strengthen the uterus muscles, it is used as a pregnancy herb to promote easier labor

Dong Quai or Honeywort (Angelica sinensis)

This Chinese herb has been recognized since long ago as one of the primary herbs for all kind of female disorders pertaining blood system, menstruation, fertility and pregnancy. Its famous compound, the Great Tonic for All Female Deficiencies has been validated by the modern scientific research on its traditional claims. It contains phytoestrogen, a hormone that regulates the menstruation cycle.

False Unicorn Root (Chamaelirium luteum)

This multi-effect herb is of great value in medicinal usage. Aside as a uterus tonic, it is also used to keep an alkaline condition of the ovaries, kidney and urine bladder. It can be used to treat venereal disease, gonorrhea in particular. This herb is not only known to treat fertility in women, but also useful in the treatment of men impotence.
