Let us face it, England does not shine in the department of beaches, simply because of our location geographically. That does not mean however, that all of us do not long to spend an idyllic day or days by the beach enjoying the sand and the surf.
Thanks to the English Riviera we can now enjoy Mediterranean type beaches close to home. Torquay has a range of beaches offering soft, warm sand and cooling waters, perfect for the whole family. As these are popular with visitors they also offer a host of facilities to make the vacation perfect and to ensure that you really only leave the beach at the end of the day.
Nearby cafes for easy access to scrumptious food, deck chairs or sun beds, plus chalets on hire all give that extra oomph to your vacation. Some beaches also offer water sports for the fanatic or even the amateur so that entertainment is never far away. Just imagine yourself enjoying Mediterranean weather, lazing on a warm beach, lulled by the sound of the lapping waves as the kids play on the soft sand. Even a pebble beach offers children hours of entertainment as they are caressed by the cooling sea breeze.
Once you are on the beach chances are that you will not want to leave until day end. In that case the best accommodation option would be a Torquay bed and breakfast, so that you are free to get your meals at the beach without having to trudge back to your hotel for lunch, simply because it is pre-paid for. There are many good quality bed and breakfasts in Torquay and you are sure to find one that is ideal for you. As they are used to catering to the hordes of guests that arrive, you know the service will be good and the accommodation up to mark.
It would be a waste not to experience such pleasures that are offered close to home and give your family a treat. It is easy to go over a weekend and be back rejuvenated in time for the start of the work week. Imagine coming home with that perfect, enviable tan and not having busted your purse for it. Especially as all of us are slowly trying to rebuild our lives financially it is always good to know there are such wonderful options available for us to enjoy spectacular holidays that do not cost a fortune. So hurry up and visit the English Riviera for a holiday beyond par.
