The new digital TVs being marketed today are pretty expensive especially the newest ones – the LED and the Internet TV. However, the LCDs are a little cheaper and are just as good, if not better than some LED. However, like all technology which is relatively a baby there are some advantages and disadvantages.

For those who are thinking of upgrading their standard TVs and analog sets, you have to know what to look for. First of all, make sure that the sets include digital tuners. This is a rule which makes it impossible for manufacturers to make or sell any TV with an analog tuner. Unless that same set also has a digital tuner included.

Unfortunately, many retailers are still selling purely analog TV sets from their old stocks. It is because of this that many consumers are confused as to why they can still find analog only tuners on the ‘new’ sets. There are now consumer alerts which attempt to correct this confusion and vendors are required to inform their customers about the issue.

There are also quality levels of digital TV which you must be aware of. There is the Standard Definition TV or SDTV, the Enhance Definition TV or EDTV and High Definition TV or HDTV.

SDTV – this is the basic level on quality display and resolution for the analog and the digital TVs. The transmission can be tradition formation or the wide screen format. EDTV – this is an improved level from the analog TV. This offers the wide screen format, the traditional format and can offer better quality picture and sound quality compared to SDTV but is not better or equal to the HDTV.

HDTV – this offers the wide screen format and gives the best resolution in picture and sound quality for all types of digital broadcast formats. The HDTV is now considered as the standard for quality sound and picture in televisions. It should be important to mention, however, that HDTV is not the same as digital TV and should not be confused as one and the same.

Now enjoy watching TV with the cheapest alternative to cable. The Ditigenne Insteekkaart, i.e is the receiver for digital TV that is now into the side of your flat screen television with high image quality and use of simple remote control of your LCD or Plasma TV operation. Also you can enjoy wireless TV along with Digitenne Zenders.
