Cialis – overview
Cialis is the brand name under which tadalafil is marketed worldwide. It is manufactured by Eli Lilly and Company, a pharmaceutical company based in Indiana in the United States. Tadalafil was given the FDA approval in November 2003, just 3 months after vardenafil (the active ingredient in Levitra, another commercial anti-ED drug) was approved by FDA, the apex US agency. Since then, the medicine has been enjoying a reputable status in the global market as an effective treatment for erectile problems.
Introduction to Cialis
Cialis belongs to an elite group of three anti-impotence drugs that are presently being used by millions of men worldwide. It outlasts the effects of Viagra by about 32 hours – Viagra lets you engage in sexual activities for up to 4 hours; Cialis does that for up to 36 hours. It means that the drug gives you the choice to wait till you and your partner get in the mood. So with Cialis, you can take your time, relax, and enjoy the fun of lovemaking. However, what you need to remember is that taking the tablet alone won't give you an erection. You need to be sexually stimulated as well.
Condition(s) that may prevent you from taking Cialis
Cialis is not recommended to every man suffering from erectile issues. You are not advised to take the drug if you have any of the following conditions: high/low blood pressure chronic heart problems renal conditions liver diseases impaired vision Peyronie's disease multiple myeloma
Also, if you are allergic to tadalafil or any other ingredients of Cialis, you should not take the medicine. Do not take it in case you are undergoing nitrate therapies for heart complications, or using recreational drugs containing amyl nitrate and butyl nitrate.
In case you experience nausea, dizziness or chest pain during sexual activities, go and consult your doctor immediately and stop having sex until told to resume. These side effects may further deteriorate your heart conditions and put you at risk.
You should not take Cialis in conjunction with other anti-impotence medications or treatments. Drinking alcohol while taking vardenafil is also not recommended as too much of it may expose you to increased risk of having headaches or dizziness.
Dosage of Cialis
Cialis comes in the form of yellow tablets, with 2 category of dosages – Cialis for daily use (2.5mg and 5mg pills) and 36-hour Cialis (10mg and 20mg pills). The former is taken daily while the latter is taken on 'as needed' basis to enhance erection during sexual intercourse. It is because of the latter category that Cialis has earned itself 'the weekend pill' tag. Depending on your doctor's advice, you can take a 10mg or 20mg pill to spark off the man in you any time between 30 minutes and 36 hours from taking the pill. Normally a 10mg dose is recommended if you are using Cialis for the first time. Talk to your doctor to know more about its dosage.
