Dahle paper shredders are some of the best available and many of them are perfect for small office use. One of their newest devices is the CleanTEC 41206, a strip-cut shredder that has a lot of special features. Here's a look at its strengths and weaknesses so you can determine if it's right for your office:
Strengths:

  • The 41206 can shred up to 22 sheets at a time which is an excellent shredding capacity. The device is strong enough to also shred document fasteners (i.e. paper clips), CD's, and credit cards.
  • This is a great shredder for office use because it's equipped with a CleanTEC filtration system. This feature makes paper dust go away so it won't get into your workplace where you and your colleagues can breathe it in. If there's no paper dust in the air, everyone will be healthier.
  • If safety is important to you, you'll be happy to know that the 41206 is really safe to use. During use, you can yell "Stop!" to stop the machine from operating in case of an emergency. You can also touch the top of the shredder if you want to get the same results.
  • The 41206 is very energy-efficient and can even help you save money on your electric bill. This device's SmartPower system helps cut down on energy consumption even when the shredder is idling. (The machine will turn itself off after 20 minutes of non-use.) This also helps keep the motor in good shape.
  • This is one of the most durable shredders available. It even features parts made out of solid German steel, so you can expect to get a lot of use out of it.
  • The 41206 has an 11-gallon waste bin that's compatible with gusseted bags so you can shred a lot without needing to recycle the shreds right away. To prevent the bin from overflowing, the device will let you know how much you're shredding with every pass.
  • Finally, this machine's cutting cylinders are backed by a lifetime warranty. Labor and other parts are covered for 2 years.
Weaknesses:
  • The 41206 is a strip-cut machine so it doesn't offer as much security as a cross-cut device. You should take this into consideration if you frequently shred a lot of top-secret documents.
  • This device isn't terribly big (it measures 28" x 17" x 13.75") so it's not meant for departmental use.
It's pretty obvious that the Dahle CleanTEC 41206 has many more strengths than weaknesses. This is really a first-rate machine that would be an excellent choice for small offices seeking a technologically advanced shredder. This machine can shred a lot of paper at once, it's safe to operate, and it will even help keep the air in your office clean. You'll be able to save power (and maybe even money) when using this machine and it will stand up to a lot of use because it's very well-made. (The warranty coverage is excellent, too.) It's true that the 41206 doesn't offer as much security as a cross-cut unit, but it's great for everyday use. If you think the 41206 will be a good fit for your needs, consider getting it for your office today.
