Some of the common jobs in IT companies include that of a project manager, software engineer, hardware engineer and systems analyst.

Project Manager: The project manager looks after the development process of various software applications in a company. Software Engineer: As the name itself suggests, software engineers are responsible for developing new and innovative software applications and also maintaining and updating the existing ones. They should be creative, should have problem solving skills, and should possess thorough knowledge about the codes as well as languages of IT.

Hardware Engineer: The hardware engineers are responsible for maintaining and repairing the physical parts of a computer. They also design computer hardware and determine and solve problems related to computer hardware. These hardware engineers should have thorough knowledge about computer hardware.

Systems Analyst: The systems analysts make an assessment of the needs of the client from technical as well as business viewpoint and try to develop a feasible solution for the software engineers. This solution acts as a document for the software engineers during their software application development process.

There are several IT companies looking for entry-level as well as experienced candidates for different types of vacancies. If you do not have any relevant work experience, it is advisable that you look for entry-level jobs. On the other hand, if you have work experience of a minimum of five years, then you can apply for senior level positions.
