Smartec STR-1683 16ch video recorder converts signals from analog cameras into H.264 format and records them on the internal HDD with up to Full D1 resolution and up to 400 fps. This standalone DVR is equipped with a hard drive, DVD-RW and two USB-ports, and also allows the operator to install up to 2 additional HDDs or connect external drives via eSATA and iSCSI interfaces. STR-1683 has 4 audio channels, motion detection, 16 inputs and 4 relay outputs and supports PTZ-cameras operation control. Management and configuration can be carried out from network PC via RAS + specialized software, while RAS Mobile app enables the operator to control DVR operation via iPhone, PDA, etc.
STR-1683 can record and transmit video over the network with CIF (352x288 pix.) to Full D1 (720x576 pix.) resolution at up to 400 fps of recording speed. For the rational disk space usage, standalone DVR allows the operator to set the optimum recording mode: Continuous, Schedule, Event, Pre-/Post Alarm and Emergency recording. Due to the audio inputs, STR-1683 can record and transmit video images synchronized with audio information from 4 sources.
Video recording and storage is carried out on the built-in SATA HDD, which can be supplemented with two optional hard drives. It is also possible to use external storage systems. For example, using eSATA-port, this standalone DVR is connected to the DAS-arrays, which are an effective solution for small and medium-scale extension of the archive. Moreover, for drastic archive extension digital video recorder allows the operator to use network SAN-storages, connected to STR-1683 via iSCSI-port. In addition, the operator can back up video on DVD/CD-drives via built-in DVD-RW-drive or external hard drives using USB-port.
STR-1683 is equipped with multiple video outputs, allowing the operator to use different types of CCTV monitors. In particular, standalone DVR features HDMI, VGA and BNC interfaces, as well as Spot-output for connection of the Spot-monitor, designed for configuring or transmitting alarm video from security cameras. Due to HDMI-output, this DVR can work with modern Full HD monitors. In this case, the quality of each frame in a multiscreen mode will be significantly higher than in the frames, transmitted via VGA.
Increased reliability of STR-1683 is provided by S.M.A.R.T. technology, which constantly checks standalone DVR operation and evaluates the current state of internal hard drives. In case of overheating, damage or other critical situation, it will immediately "inform" the operator about DVR malfunction and ensure the safety of recorded information. In addition, new digital video recorders allow the operator to restrict access to the archived video content, using effective system of passwords and user rights division.
To implement advanced security features, 16ch standalone DVR has dimming detector and hardware motion detector with 5 sensitivity levels, 192 detection zones and retrospective video search. Thus, upon receiving alarm signal, digital video recorder activates the buzzer and connected executive device, displays alarm message and sends e-mail notification with alarm images.
Due to RS-485 and RS-232C interfaces, STR-1683 can be connected to the PTZ-cameras with the ability to control their operation, using front panel buttons, IR remote control, USB-mouse or telemetry keyboard, for example, STT-2405U. In addition, STR-1683 is equipped with RS-232 interface for operation with POS/ATM-terminals. Text information from these data terminals can be used as a searching parameter for archive video search.
All DVRs in this series are bundled with RAS + professional software for deploying geographically distributed video surveillance systems with centralized control. This software allows the operator to view current and archive video (up to 64 video channels), supports alarm outputs and PTZ-cameras operation control. MapEditor software module composes 3D-maps, graphically displaying each standalone DVR and other CCTV devices on the monitoring area. RAS Mobile application provides remote access to digital video recorders via different mobile devices - iPhone, PDA, BlackBerry, etc.
