Snoring is still achievable by the body even when it is in the state of deep sleep. Snoring is caused by the reduction in size of the throats air passages. The muscles in the throat relax and they basically collapse or reduce in size. Combined with rapid movement of air flow through the narrowed passages the relaxed muscles vibrate and create what we know as snoring.
It is proven that natural remedies for snoring can be effective means of fighting the problems.
Some of the things that have been successful in combating snoring are:
- Weight Loss and Exercise
Maintaining an ideal weight makes you less likely to be susceptible to snoring. Breathing obstructions around the throat are usually attributed to people with larger necks caused by being overweight. Breathing restrictions are created by the extra tissue surrounding the air passages in the throat when a person carries additional weight.
- Improve Your General Lifestyle
Excessive drinkers and smokers are far more vulnerable to snoring due to the substances within the products. The body does not react favorably to many of the ingredients within cigarettes and alcohol.
Unfortunately tobacco can significantly change the tissue with a person's respiratory tract so much so that it can be stripped of protection by the bad chemicals ingredients within cigarettes and cigars. There are arguments supporting the fact that cells within the esophagus change with the continued passing of tobacco smoke over it. This results in an additional and an abnormal amount of mucus to form in the throat and add to obstructions to the air passage.
In addition, Alcohol can induce significant relaxation on the muscles in the throat, which will further aggravate the situation. The muscle tend to relax even more when you are asleep. The overly relaxed muscles within the throat will then restrict the airflow down the air passage causing increased vibration and snoring.
- Change Sleep Posture
Stitching a tennis ball to the back of a set of pajam's was a traditional method of preventing snoring. By doing this the snorer would be encouraged to sleep on their side since the tennis ball is enough to prompt them to do so.
Sleeping in a sidewards position to prevent the relaxed throat muscles from collapsing can be effective for many people. Sleeping on the stomach is also one way of reducing snoring, as this posture is almost ideal for reducing the pressure on the throat and the air passage.
The practice of sleeping in an elevated position of approximately 30 degrees has proven beneficial. This has the effect of reducing the collapsing muscle on the throat.
If you are looking for something else to add to some of the natural remedies for snoring then I would recommend you read ZQuiet Reviews.
