Sign is a speed-dialer app that allows you to make calls or text contacts directly from your homescreen. With Sign you can assign gestures to any of your contacts, then simply activate Sign and draw the gesture to call or text that contact. To assign a gesture to a contact first launch the app, and then find the contacts you want o assign the gesture to, by selecting the 'Manage contacts' icon. Now draw whatever gesture you want to use for that contact. The 'sign' can be a number, letter, symbol, or any type of design you choose. Use single or multi-stroke gestures to create unique signs for your contacts. Just make sure to use a gesture that you are likely to remember. To call a contacts, simply click on the 'Sign' icon, draw your gesture, and your desired contact is immediately dialed.

Sign uses a custom-designed gesture recognition system to more accurately identify gestures. The app recognizes the direction, number, and order of strokes used to make the gesture. This allows the app to minimize the potential for misrecognition. Sign also has several built-in in measures to prevent misdials, including a fully adjustable call confirmation setting (which can be turned off or be set up to four seconds). This gives you a certain window of time where you can decide whether to cancel the call, send a text message, or select a contact in the event Sign recognizes multiple contacts for the input gesture.

Unlike other speed-dial apps and quick start widgets 'Sign' greatly reduces the potential for accidental calls, since, you actually have to input a gesture instead of just tapping an icon. To have 'Sign' available in your notification bar, check the 'quick startup' box in settings. This setting also ensures that sign opens as quickly as possible, every time. It will not have any negative effects on your battery life or performance. To manage your sign, open the 'Manage contacts' icon from within the app and make changes you'd like. To change the sign, just draw over the old one and click 'save'. Sign is the perfect speed-dialer app for touchscreen phones.
