Raiders sign Palmer
Today the NFL trade deadline expires, and Carson Palmer certainly got what he wanted: to play for another team other than the Bengals, the franchise with which he has been since he entered the NFL back in 2003 (he was the first overall pick of that year). The Raiders is the team that signed the 31 year veteran, and Oakland’s coach Hue Jackson is familiarized with the player Jackson was the wide receivers coach for Cincinnati from 2004 to 2006, which is probably one of the best times in the career of Palmer, who wanted an exit from the Bengals after a disastrous 4-12 2010 season.

Ponder will start instead of McNabb
Trusting the experience of veteran Donovan McNabb was not the best of choices for the Vikings, who are now 1-5, and that is the main reason why Coach Leslie Frazier has decided to give rookie Christian Ponder the quarterback starting job. McNabb was benched most of last season by the Redskins in favor of Rex Grossman, and the Vikings acquired the veteran in hopes that a change of franchises will increase the potential of McNabb, but sadly for Minnesota that was not the case, and now Ponder will have to prove that he is worthy of the position he has been given.

Marshall and Moore, the right combination for the Dolphins
Brandon Marshall went out of bounds in a play that could have ended in an easy 6-pointer for the Dolphins, whom are now 0-5 and whom also lost Chad Henne, their starting quarterback, for the rest of the season as he underwent shoulder surgery. Marshall, on his first start for Miami this year, look well performing along Matt Moore, the guy that will be calling the shots from now on as QB number one for the Florida franchise, and it seems like the Dolphins will have to give Marshall more chances as starter in order to see if the combination of him with Moore can give the hapless Dolphins a reason not to give up.

Polamalu cleared, will starts against Cards
After a concussion between Troy Polamalu and Maurice Jones-Drew in the game that the Steelers won 17-13 over the Jaguars that looked serious at first sight, the doctors of the Pittsburgh franchise has given the green light for Polamalu to start against the Cardinals, a team that features wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who proved to be a headache for the Steelers at the 2009 Super Bowl, and who might take advantage if a guy like Polamalu is not lined up.
