If you are looking for car hire in Malaga or any other destination in Spain like Alicante, Mallorca, Barcelona or Tenerife you will find a lot of different portals and price comparison sites offering car rental services in Spain.
There are so many websites that it will not always be easy to find the best deal, especially because there can be a lot of small print and hidden charges when it is the first time you rent a car online. The truth is, that many websites about car rental in Malaga are not very useful. Many websites are setup from the company’s point of view, forgetting about the interest of the customer.
When you want to book a vehicle online or compare the prices and conditions of different companies offering this service it is important to know which tricks can be used by some companies. If you find out, that the websites is using one of these tricks you better be ware of booking your rental car with them.
Check out which petrol policy they are using. Many car hire companies in Spain, especially local suppliers will ask you to pay for a full tank of petrol and return the car as empty as possible, because they do not refund unused petrol. This can be an expensive option, moreover because the price per liter is not the same as the price at the petrol station.
Find out, which insurances are included and which not. Although the insurance may be published as fully comprehensive many companies will not include damages to wheels, tyres, windscreens, damages to the locks of the vehicle, lost or stolen keys or the under parts of the car in the insurance cover.
Take care with charges for additional drivers, young drivers, child seats (which you will normally have to fit in the car yourself) late arrival supplements, airport taxes etc. Make sure that everything is clearly mentioned before you decide to book the hire car online.
Also check what payment methods are accepted. Most companies will not deliver the vehicle if you do not present a valid credit card on the name of the driver when you collect the car upon arrival at the airport. If you want to rent a car without a credit card or debit card it will be very difficult to find one as practically all companies in Malaga and other destinations in Spain will refuse to rent a car if you want to pay in cash.
