Below you will find just a few tips or things to consider when choosing a daycare center and/or pre-school for your child.
Evaluate all of your options. Talk to people, ask around. Speak to everyone you know that has or had little children and find out who there day care provider was. You can never ask (or inquire with) enough people on this one. Obviously, there has to be a cut off point but ask everyone from relatives to pediatricians. Also make sure the provider is accredited.
Determine what’s important. As mentioned earlier, create a list of all of the important factors then prioritize them. Decide what factors are MUST HAVES and make sure your chosen daycare provider has them….no exceptions.
Schedule and make a visit. Once you’ve identified the chosen few, call them and schedule a visit. During your visit, take your time, ask questions and try to get a sense of the overall environment. Check for licenses, cleanliness, etc. You can even bring your child along to see how they interact and view his or her body language.
Hopefully this helps and good luck in finding the perfect daycare center for your child.
