Deburring is one of those manufacturing processes that machine shops and metal parts manufacturers have to go through but they don’t want to spend a lot of money on the process. However, deburring can be extremely important to the final product. Burr can be sharp and dangerous and if not removed properly could result in consumer injury. Burr also makes precision parts not quite as precision as they should be. A burr line on a gear can cause many problems in a machine. That is why metal fabricators and parts makers begrudgingly invest in the correct kind of deburring equipment for their industry. A good deburring machine can help cut down on production costs and increase quality, which will lead to more customers.

The most common kind of deburring equipment is the kind that uses brushes, files and other abrasive materials on machines. There is a vice device that holds the piece in place and then the machine removes the burr. It can be set up like an assembly line where several pieces are done at the same time, or it can be done in a more precision manner where each piece is done and then inspected. Even with a manual inspection after each piece is worked on, these machines are still significantly faster and more accurate than having humans do the deburring work. It can save company a considerable amount of money in labor and materials costs.

Deburring equipment that uses electrochemical processes are often used on more complicated parts were using a brush to get to the more precision areas is not always feasible. The piece is put in a machine that uses chemicals to remove the burr but prevents damage to the piece. Electronic magnets remove the burr from the piece and then the piece is moved on to final production. It is extremely quick and extremely accurate. This helps to reduce the amount of moving parts in a machine which lowers the potential points of failure.

Another popular kind of deburring equipment is one that uses centrifugal force to remove burr quickly and safely. In its simplest form, this piece of equipment has a tub that spins extremely fast and pushes the piece up against the all of the tub along with deburring solution. The burr comes lose from the piece and is carried away by magnets or falls off into a bin for quick and safe removal.

This company has experience with deburring equipment and numerous processes.
