If you are looking for a wide selection of choices in facial cleansers, a trip to any retail store will
provide you with plenty. Determining which one is the best face wash is the question. You also must consider
which one if best for your type of skin. If you want to pay more, you can head to the department store for pricier
choices.
Keep in mind your skin type when searching for a facial cleanser.
Some individuals deal with dry skin, while others battle oily. People with combination skin types, will often have
to deal with both oily and dry patches. Others have sensitive skin and easily react to the dyes, chemicals and
fragrances added to the cleanser. Finally, you have those that struggle with acne.
In my research, I found Purpose which is a good cleanser for all skin types. This facial
cleanser is manufactured by Johnson & Johnson. It doesn't contain oil and it's soap-free. There are also no
fragrances added to this cleanser. Generations of consumers have trusted the Johnson & Johnson name. You can find
this at just about any drugstore for around $6.00.
If you have dry skin, don't shy away from Pond's Cold Cream just because you remember your grandmother slathering
her face down with it before bedtime. This is a great facial cleanser for removing makeup and won't leave you with
that tight feeling that comes with just soap and water. The cleanser will remove the debris, and the moisturizers
within the product will work their magic overnight leaving your skin feeling soft and silky.
Issues with acne plague my own daughter. For her skin needs, I use Neutrogena Oil-free Acne Wash. We
started out with the celebrity endorsed products sold in the mall, but found that this face wash is just as
effective and is considerably less in cost. The reader's of Allure magazine voted this acne wash as a winner in
- The gel contains salicylic acid to combat the acne issues. The product is also infused with aloe and
chamomile which keep the skin smooth. You can also find this product at your local drugstore.
Fortunately, no one in my household battles dry skin, but a little research revealed a good product
for this skin type. Cetaphil Gentle Daily Cleanser runs around $10.00. It has appeared in Allure magazine's
topped ranked facial cleansers year after year, voted as a winner by its readers. You won't find this one at your
department store either, but it should be on the shelves of your local bargain retailers.
If you prefer to remain one with nature, there are also several natural facial cleansers that you may want to
consider. Rather than making a trip to your drugstore, head to your market and pick up some of nature's cleansers
and moisturizers. Try olive oil, honey, yogurt (make sure you get the plain), avocado oil, or aloe vera.
It doesn't matter what type of skin issues you have, there are multiple
choices that are affordable. It may take a little time and research, but with the effort you can find the best
face wash for your skin type and for others in your household.
I'm a dermatologist with a passion for writing about the best natural facial cleanser on the market.
