Present-day managed service providers and operators are often faced the task of managing non-standard networked equipment, such as video servers, power generators and uninterruptable supplies, and datacenter environment monitoring devices.

Most old-school network monitoring and management systems were designed for processing metrics and events coming from a pre-known range of SNMP-capable network equipment. For example, almost all monitoring systems are used to get data from Cisco routers and servers. Moreover, the data processing functions for standard metrics are hardcoded into those systems.

However, it is always painful to use such systems for managing rare and non-standard equipment. In most cases, this requires editing complex scripts or XML files and manually entering SNMP OID values found in MIB files provided by device manufacturers. Later on, it's always difficult to build data processing tools and chains for such non-standard data, since most existing tools are also hardcoded and allow very limited customization.

AggreGate Network Manager provides completely different approach for monitoring and managing non-standard networked devices. The system is built atop of a well-known multi-industry AggreGate Device Management Platform that provides comprehensive infrastructure for retrieving, processing, routing and visualizing any kind of device data.

AggreGate Platform is perfectly suited for handling complex data types, such as SNMP tables. The platform includes two visual editors (Report Editor and GUI Builder) that have come from industrial automation domain (which, indeed, have almost no standard tasks!). These editors, accompanied by multiple server-side data processing modules and advanced system architecture, allow building multi-tier highly available distributed monitoring and management systems.

All AggreGate Network Manager‘s out-of-box data processing and presentation tools are not hardcoded into the system. These tools can be visually edited to tailor them for processing custom metrics. And of course, it's possible to design completely new processing modules, dashboards, dynamic maps and custom interfaces.

OEMs and VARs can benefit from exceptional branding and customization opportunities delivered by AggreGate Platform. The Network Manager product's installation bundles and documentation can be rebranded for complete hiding the traces of its original developer, allowing network equipment manufacturers to bundle the system with their hardware.
