Pregnancy tests that you can take at home are one of the most sensible purchases you will ever make. Not only are they quite economical, but they will give you a piece of mind that you just can't put a price on. Pregnancy tests are always available at your nearest Pregnancy Center. These tests are true first urine tests. These are looking for the human hormone that is generated by pregnancy.

These tests are preferably performed early in the morning with your "first urine" of the morning. Pregnancy can be detected as early as 10 days past conception with a concentrated urine sample.

These test kits for the detection of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) in serum or urine specimens. This test kit is used to obtain a visual, qualitative result for early detection of pregnancy. More importantly, the more options you have that are available to you, especially if the pregnancy is not a planned one,

1. Free Pregnancy Testing

It is believed by many that young girls should have access to free pregnancy testing options. If they have had unprotected sex, then speaking to a school councilor or youth leader will help to locate the nearest free testing facility or womens centre. Some highschools even carry these testing kits in the nurses office.

2. The Concequences Are Not Worth It

Many young girls feel embarrassed about seeking help, or afraid that their parents will find out. In this case they need to ask the people about confidentiality issues prior to telling them what it is they need. In the event that the girl is in fact pregnant then she should be given the opportunity to tell her parents on her own. There are, of course, some exceptions to this rule. For example, if the girl becomes an immediate danger to herself or others after finding out the results of the tests - perhaps becoming suicidal - then there is just cause for a counsellor to contact the parents or other experts regarding everything.

Later Signs of Teen Pregnancy

As a pregnancy progresses, the signs and symptoms become more pronounced and harder for teens to miss. Some of these pregnancy signs include:

* an enlargement of the abdomen * weight gain or loss * aches such as backaches or headaches * quickening (feeling of fetal movement)

Unplanned Pregnancy

It is likely that the pregnancy is an unplanned one (due to your age), and is common to feel shocked, scared, panicked, confused, embarrassed, isolated or lonely. Parents, boyfriend and professionals are all there to help support and give you advice/information on the options available to you, but only you can make the choice to continue with the pregnancy or not. Its a decision that should be made based on what YOU want to do and not what others think you should do.
