There may be instances where a marriage has taken place against the wishes of one spouse, even in this scenario both partners can come to terms with the fact of their married life. All that it may require is a bit of understanding and empathy placed together.

Both understanding and empathy are vital for a good, wholesome and happy married life. There may be a lot of love between the two partners, nevertheless in the absence of understanding even that may not continue for a sufficiently long enough time period.

Divorce

If a marriage has got too many negatives then it may shoo out the fun from married life. The two partners may begin to concentrate on what they do not like about the other partner. This can lead to disastrous consequences if steps are not taken to rectify it.

Small and trivial issues can mushroom into massive fire spitting volcanoes of problems. All reasonable and sensible communication can come to a halt. This in turn can give rise to deep seated misgivings about each other.

If effective communication is not established in time then there can be total chaos in the marriage. One partner may not be able to decipher the likes and dislikes and intent of the other partner. The two spouses may even start becoming thoughtless towards each other, thus leading the path to divorce.

Effects of Divorce

A divorce can have numerous implications for both the spouses. The foremost is the emotional trauma that both individuals are subjected to, along with their families. This trauma can leave scars that can hurt long after the divorce process itself is over On the materialistic side, a divorce can virtually cripple either one or both the partners financially. This is because the divorce divides their marital assets and they automatically become poorer as compared to their marital economic status.

Fallacies Regarding Divorce

There are innumerable fallacies regarding how the divorce affects the man and the woman. These fallacies continue even into their post divorce lives. There are as many views and opinions as there are people to discuss them.

It is a belief of some people that a majority of divorces are initiated by men while their wives are unwilling to separate. This may seem to be the case. After all men being supposedly stronger of the two genders, seem to cope better than women. Not only that, reports are available that more men remarry within two years of a divorce as compared to their female counterparts.

However the research into the given subject has held the exact opposite to be true. As per the general information available on the subject, it is not men but women who are in majority as far as filing of divorces are concerned.

In fact this should not be surprising because in the event of a divorce it is the man who tends to lose greatly, most of the times. The man loses his wife and his children and his home coupled with a lot of money. There are cases wherein this does not happen, but they are a comparative rarity.
