This brings us to the next myth which is that after divorce, women suffer financially more than men. It may have a ring of truth to it. After all in a family, it is mostly the men who work outside to earn the bread and butter for the household, while women generally take charge of the household.
Nevertheless even this is not completely true. This is so because in the event of a divorce taking place, the men generally have to provide alimony to their estranged wives. Besides the alimony he may have to give child support also.
In homes with children, the courts generally favour the women in terms of the marital house. Here too the men lose out. So this statement that women suffer more financially than men in case of a divorce should also not be taken at its face value.
The third fallacy is that divorce judgements are always biased in favour of the women. This is definitely not the case. It may be so in a majority of cases, but wherever the courts feel otherwise, the judgements are biased towards men also.
