Do you feel that you are just spinning your wheels and never getting anything done? You can take back control of your time and your life.

A big obstacle for any business is the thought of having too little time. The truth is that we all share the same 24 hours a day in a 7 day week. So what makes some spend their time so wisely, while others squander away productive hours?

Here are some helpful steps to taking back control of your time.

Education Vs. Productivity

Whether you are new to online marketing or a seasoned veteran, you will never be able to stop learning new things. However, research and learning should never come at the cost of being productive. Create clear boundaries for yourself for preparation time and work time. You can get to the point of too much learning and not enough working. Obviously that would not be great for your business's net worth.

Vision

You should have a clear vision for where your business is now and where you want it to end up. That vision should be broken down into smaller short term and long term goals.

You need to constantly reevaluate how you are spending your time. Are you contributing to your goals or not? This will help you keep your vision in clear sight.

Plan Your Day

Preparation produces productivity. If you spend 10 minutes every morning planning out your day, you will find that you will be more productive at the end of the day.

A great way to prepare is to divide your larger projects into smaller tasks. This is a great way to motivate yourself throughout the day as you are checking items off of your list.

Prioritization

The next step is to take that to do list that you just created for your day and place the tasks in order of importance. It is subject to change throughout the day as new things come up, but it is a great place to start.

Learn To Say No

No matter how efficient you are, you have to come to the realization that you can't do everything. Go back through your to do list and cross off the items that really aren't necessary for you to do.

Learning to say no is a crucial time management skill. People want to be told no right away, instead of you disappointing them later when you can't follow through with your commitments.

Be Good To Yourself

If you want to be productive and enjoy the lifestyle that your hard work affords you, then you have to take care of yourself. Make time to eat healthy, exercise, get plenty of rest, relax, and take time off to do the things you enjoy.
