So you see those "For Dummies" books all over and there are thousands of them so I figured there would never be one written on Trust Seals so I have decided just to write a quick article on the subject.

The definition of a Trust Seal would be the following: An image, certificate, or badge placed on a website demonstrating that a third party has verified that the company exists, has a privacy policy, and or is safe to deal with. When a trust seal is seen on your website, it shows that they have a good privacy policy and it is a real business without any scamming involved. This is being liked by a large number of people today as it maintains an overall security management.

Now there are many words or names that also describe Trust Seals such as Verified seals, Security Seals, Business Verified Seals, Certified Seals, and Privacy Seals. All of these names are pointing back to the main purpose of the seal, which is to give the customer trust and confidence in giving them personal and financial information.

The advantages of Security and Verification Trust Seals are to increase sales by increasing customer confidence. The only way that Trust Seals work is if they are placed strategically on a website allowing the site visitors to see them. Some of the most important areas to insert the seals are on the top of the home page; near an email opt in area, at the shopping cart check out area, and anywhere where you think the customer or visitor need to have confidence that you will keep their information safe.

Now in this online world all that separates a small online business and a large internet company is the usability and trust of a website. Larger e-commerce websites spend thousands of dollars in security upgrades and hacker safe testing. E-commerce webmasters can now make a onetime investment and give their customers the confidence and trust they deserve. They can compete with large companies also with secure online transactions. In fact, the recent boom in e-commerce websites can be attributed both to cheaper storage technology and safer online shopping.

In addition, a webmaster does not have to keep abreast of the latest security developments; companies that offer trust seals for sale, can automatically inform webmasters of the latest issues and requirements. This helps you the webmaster to keep up without having to spend too much time on the issue.

So for you dummies out there that didn't know what Trust Seals are, hopefully this article has helped you and also helped you to get prepared for including seals on your website.
