If you are planning to get a booth a tradeshow for the first time, you are making a smart move and giving yourself a great opportunity to get your name out. What you might not expect is how expensive the combination of getting the booth and a worthwhile display for it can be. The difference between a waste of your time or a return on your investment will be the display and promotional items you hand out at your booth. You can get even better returns than if you try renting a display rather than purchasing one.

The display you want should be something made to match your company's particular look and feel, and sometimes that can be an expensive proposal if you try to get the biggest booth space you can. There are many companies that offer display rentals which can be custom designed to fit your brand. You get the benefits of a customized display without having to worry about all of the extra costs of owning it; many rental services include transportation and storage in the price.

There are a variety of types of display types to match the various booth types, so keep this in mind when choose your display. As an example, if you have an inline booth space, you will most likely have height restrictions to deal with. Popup or tabletop displays are generally intended to handle this, the tabletop type being the most useful if you're short on funds or really don't have a lot of room. Spent a premium on the biggest booth space that you can find a tradeshow, an island display is probably the way to go. Island displays are often quite tall because there are less strict height requirements for island booths and the display can be used to divide your booth area into several different spaces or rooms. Be sure to consider all options before making a final decision!

A tradeshow display is only half of the battle and wouldn't be complete without some decent promotional items to give away at the show. Tradeshow giveaways not only compliment your display choices; they are a part of an important "one-two punch" in marketing on the tradeshow floor. Use the display to get people's attention and then use the promotional product to ensure that visitors will remember you long after the show has faded from their memory.

An item that is intuitive and easy to carry around is a great idea. The temptation is there to be a little too creative, but if you have to explain the joke behind your choice then you should probably choose something else. A promotional item that attendees will find useful can guarantee the item won't end up in the garbage at the end of the show. The items appropriate to your specific industry can vary substantially from something that will work for another industry so it might be a good idea to consult an expert before your first show.

Generally, any sort of desk accessory would be perfect as a tradeshow promotional item. These will end up in front of your clients, prime real estate we like to call it, on a daily basis. They are easy to store and transport and can be easily placed on any shelving or tables you rent with your booth display. Every time they see your custom logo item, they'll remember the spectacular display that grabbed their attention in the first place.

Combining the value of a booth rental with an inexpensive but useful promotional product is a winning combination! With careful planning you will leave the tradeshow having made a long lasting impression on countless clients and new contacts.
