You can get that kind of faith with your imagination. You must see it, hear it, feel it and have big reasons to achieve it. I had big reasons to get that salesman's job. I wanted to stop hauling concrete blocks. I wanted to stop getting pushed around by my step dad. I wanted to establish a family that was the opposite of the family I came from. And I wanted to make a lot of money. So, in great detail, I saw myself living on my own, selling lots of insurance, dating beautiful women and eventually having my own happy family. And I accomplished all those things. I dreamed about those things in great detail and I figured out later how to achieve them.

You have to figure out how to achieve them later because you must test your strategies. You try something and it won't work, so you make adjustments and try something a little different. Maybe you abandon that strategy and try a whole different approach. You do this until you find something that works.

The next step is to think about your goals, big ones and little ones. What is it you desire? These are your goals for this exercise.

Get out some sheets of blank paper. And write on these pages as fast as you possibly can, never letting the pen stop. Write down everything you want. Fast and furiously write everything you want to get, want to give, or want to make this year and the next 20 years.

Think of big goals, huge goals, little goals; things you want to own, thing you want to give, things you want to master, things you want to learn. Think of money goals, spiritual goals, skill goals, fun goals, learning goals -- anything you can possibly dream of.

Write quickly just as fast as you can. Use abbreviations, shorthand, just key words. Never mind sentences and adjectives. If you want to own a beautiful home on three acres with a swimming pool and three car garages, just write "home."

Write like a child in total belief. If you know you couldn't fail, what would you write down. That's it, write, write, write!

Immediately after you are through doing this, take another blank sheet of paper and write down your top four goals. After each of your goals write down why you absolutely, positively, must achieve this by the end of next year, no matter what. Don't worry about how you're going to do it. Your reasons will turn on your unconscious to give you the answers on how to do it. If you have big reasons of why you want to do something, you can figure it out as you go. It's a like building an airplane while you're flying it.

For each goal be sure and write yourself strong reasons why you must achieve it. Write about things that will inspire you to happily work long and hard.

Next, you have to be certain your enthusiasm and effort will be sustained so you will achieve your goals. Do this by reviewing the results and benefits of your goals. Visualize that you have already achieved them. Use all five of your senses, or your channels, as I describe in my book Triggers. In addition to you seeing it, hearing it, and feeling it; you know you are really into it if you can smell and taste it. Do this at least twice a day. You are triggering powerful motivation. It will spur you want to overcome the inevitable obstacles.
