Learn how to drive a continuous stream of free traffic on to your web site.
There are many varied and highly effective ways to create traffic flow to your web site. However for many start up online businesses where budget is limited, the site owner or webmaster may not have sufficient funding to take part in paid systems for generating visitors to their web site.
So for many the idea that you can effectively generate good numbers of visitors with out spending the petty cash is welcome news indeed. At this point I am not suggesting that paid advertising will not create great results and very likely better, just that if budget is an issue you can get started for free. Used with consistency the free results will get your business off the ground until the cash flow grows.
The first thing to consider is that unless you have got a web site none of this is important. This may seem obvious, but I speak to many people who worry about traffic before they even get a site built. So get some thing on line as soon as possible even if it is just a single page explaining what you do and who you are, with a data capture form. (Data capture is another subject but incredibly important to your online business).
So now you have an online presence, you can develop and improve your site as you go, but now let us get some visitors.
The following are some examples of free methods; there is a great deal of extensive and detailed data available online. Here are some outline ideas.
"Link swapping"
Link swapping is when you agree to exchange a link to your site with a link to another. Not only does this mean your respective visitors can find another site to view but the mutual benefit can extend to improved ratings on search engines. This is particularly effective when you exchange links with a site that compliments your product, service or niche.
"Start a Newsletter"
Once you create your newsletter you can maintain regular contact with your subscriber list. You can keep them up to date with your products and services; as well as interesting and topical articles. Make your newsletter entertaining and fun, you not only want your subscriber to look forward to receiving it; even better they should feel compelled to recommend it to their friends. The more that sign up for it the greater, the traffic will flow to your site.
"Forums and online communities"
There are countless of these on the internet. Virtually any subject can be found and you will not have any problem finding some that are in your field. Once you have found one or two, that meet your demographic needs, start to open or join in with discussions related to your opportunity or market niche. Once you start to be seen as an authority in your subject you will build a positive trusted reputation for you and your business. Others will start to search out your products and services and again recommend to their friends and acquaintances. You can promote your website within your entries. One word of warning, simply making an entry on a forum to blatantly plug your site can be considered spamming.
