It is obvious that some specialists are better than others. We usually get what we pay for, but the problem is that in hypnosis, you can't allow some people to play with your mind as this can lead to destructions in your psyche. That's why it's extremely crucial to make sure specialists you have turned up for help know what they are doing. In this article I will discuss futile to most common mistakes made by unqualified hypnotherapists, so you will be able to avoid them.

First problem we encounter with hypnotists is an usage of suggestion known as the "aversion suggestion" without proper understanding of dangers connected to it. This particular suggestion is given to emphasize negative aspects of a specific habit like smoking, overeating, lack of self-confidence, and so on. First of all some people think that by usage of such suggestions you can develop a problem rather than get rid of it. It bases on simple theory that our subconscious do not diversify negative statements from positive ones. It is best seen on simple example. When you read a sentence like: "I don't want to see a black cat", you will imagine a black cat for a moment. In order to neglect something we have to imagine it, to know what we are dealing with. So by saying you don't want to be ill, you are in fact increasing probability of getting sick.

So, shortly suggestions should always be positive, containing affirmation for the desired result. Usually, aversion suggestion is used only in rare cases and with extreme caution. That other frequently found problem is the issue off false memories. Inexperienced hypnotherapists lead their clients into deep hypnotic trances and with use of very powerful suggestions they manage to change memories of their patients. By this they put them into situations when they actually believe they're someone else. This can lead to a great variety of problems.

The other problem with hypnotists is they usually do not ask people if they have tried different ways to find a relief. It is especially true for all the situations where pain is at stake. It is a fact you can easily get rid of it with hypnosis but this shouldn't be treated like a medical solution. Often hypnosis will only hide the pain but won't cure the cause. Simply when your tooth hurts, hypnosis won't heel it like a dentist would.

Summing it all up hypnosis is without doubt incredibly powerful tool to get rid of problems ruining your life no matter if you search for pain relief, getting over addictions or changing your habits, it can help you. But in hands of wrong people it can be destructive, that's why you should always choose hypnotists with good reputation and experience. You also have to watch out for what suggestions they are using while you are in hypnotic state and when you will spot wrong ones, act immediately.
