1. Water soluble fruits and vegetables. Water soluble foods are synonymous with nutritious and body flushing. Fruits and vegetables will fill you up as well as keep your arteries clear.

2. Eliminate saturated and Trans fats. Animal fats and man-made fats have the tendency to stay in your body. You should be eating fats in lean meats, nuts and poultry.

3. Eliminate fast and processed foods. Obviously fast foods and processed foods are loaded with fats and sodium which are unhealthy for your body and circulation. Most restaurants have a healthy choice option to choose from.

4. Moderate Sugars! You need to moderate the sweets you are consuming in your day. Sugars have a tendency to be loaded with carbohydrates which I call 'fat storers'.

5. Whole Grains. You need all three parts of the grain in order to receive the highest fiber, vitamins, antioxidants and nutrition. Look for whole grain labels and find at least 3 grams of dietary fiber per serving.

6. Meal size. Americans have it all wrong when it comes to meals. We grew up eating three meals a day which is not helping our obesity epidemic. Humans are 'grazing creature' which means we should be grazing throughout the day. You should be eating 5-6 small meals per day. The average meal size should be the size of your fist.

7. Water! Your body is made up of 70-75% water. And the higher that percentage goes the healthier and more efficient your body will work. It will also naturally cleanse your body. You should drink half your body weight in ounces. If you weigh 200 lbs. You should drink 100 ounces of water per day.

8. Multi-vitamins! Are you taking your vitamins? Find a health store and pick a quality multi-vitamin that works for you. You might be surprised how many people are vitamin-deprived.

I am confused. I have been reading that, to reduce colesterol, eat protein and vegetables, and stay away sugar frutose (fruit sugars or fruit),beans, nuts, whole grains, and carbs. Which are major contributors to a rise in colesterol levels. One diet, like yours, is traditional and the basic food pyramid, while the other is almost opposite, briefly. There is hardly anything left to eat. Thank you. I hope you might be able to straighten me out. My family is split down the center. Sincerely, Todd (confused)
