Batman Begins is the story of how Bruce Wayne became Batman. It was a 2005 film that was directed by Christopher Nolan that starred Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman,Michael Caine as Alfred, Liam Neeson as Henri Ducard and Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes. It also featured Gary Oldman as Jim Gorden,Cillian Murphy as Dr. Jonathan Crane, Morgan Freeman plays Lucius Fox, Tom Wilkerson as Carmine Falcon,Rutger Hauer as Earle and Ra's Al Ghul.

I would have to rate this Batman as the best one in this series of Batman movie. Nolan had accomplished what some of the previous Batman movies could not. It was as good as the Burton Keaton version. Actually it was the first successful film in the Batman series following the 1997 commercial failure of Batman and Robin. The work on this film began in 2003. The mood for this movie was different than the previous couple of Batman series. Instead of using the traditional Batmobile they now used what was called the Tumbler . It resembled some type of military vehicle but with many different features that Batman could employ. The special effects were spectacular without going overboard.

At an early age of eight Bruce's parents were both killed by a mugger outside an opera house by a man named Joe Chili.Because of his fear of bats, Bruce asks his parents to leave the opera house early because the opera featured bat like features. After his parents murder he blames himself because if he had not insisted on leaving when he did, his parents would probably still be alive. After he grows up and spends some time at Princeton University Bruce returns to Gotham city intent on avenging his parents deaths by killing Chill. But he is too late because Chill is murdered by one of Falcone's henchmen.

He now decided to travel the world so that he might be able to really understand the criminal mind. He ends up in China after traveling for seven years and gets arrested. He meets Henri Ducard who invites Bruce to join an elite vigilante group. Unbeknown to Bruce they re actually going to use him to destroy Gothum. When ordered to kill a prisoner he turns on them and destroys their headquarters. Ra's al Ghul dies and Bruce ends up rescues Ducard and leaves him at a nearby village.

Bruce returns to Gothum to help weed out the corrupt system With the help of Rachel, who is now an assistant District attorney and a police sergeant named Gordon. Bruce acquires a prototype armored car and an experimental armored suit with the help of Lucius Fox. He goes about fighting crime but he almost looses his life when he is sprayed with a powerful hallucinogen that was sprayed in his face by Dr. Crane. Alfred along with the help of Fox save him with an anti-toxin. Crane later poisons Rachel after he shows her what is going to be sprayed into Gothum's water supply. Batman saves her and later he turns the tables on Crain by spraying him with his own deadly poison. Batman carries two vials of the anti-toxin and gives them to Rachel to give to sergeant Gordon. One is for the detective while the other one is for mass production for the cities population.

Bruce returns to his mansion where there is a birthday party taking place in his honer and encounters a group of ninjas led bey Ducard who reveals himself to be the real Ra's al Ghul and the man that was killed earlier was a decoy.Ducan intends to destroy Gothum by distributing the toxin undetected via Gothum's water supply. The league of Shadows set fire to Wayne's house and Wayne is one again rescued by Alfred. He ends up in an an elevated train fighting Duncan afer revealing his identity to Rachael. He leaves Gordon in control of the Batmobile so that he could help stop the elevated train from reaching it's destination. Batman escapes from the train at the last moment before it crashes to the ground with Ra's still in it.

Batman becomes a public hero and takes over control of Wayne Enterprises and installs Fox as the new CEO after firing Earle. But he cannot to hold on to Rachael because she knows that he can not leave his dual life as Bruce Wayne and Batman even thou Rachael loves him. The ending of this movie shows Batman on a roof top with now Lieutenant Gordon discussing another criminal who leaves a Joker playing card behind. In my opinion this is the best Batman series ever.
