If you love wine but only stick to a certain brand, you’re not alone. You’ll learn about the different flavors, you’ll learn how to taste wine properly and you’ll come away from the expert wine tasting tours much more cultured.
To find an expert wine tasting tour, walk into your local liquor store and see if they have a bulletin board. Many expert wine tasting tours will be advertised on these boards as they know that wine lovers usually go to the liquor stores. There are a few expert wine tasting tours websites that will let you know where local wine tasting events will be so keep a close eye out for these listings.
Attending a Wine Tasting Party
The best part about attending a wine tasting event is meeting all the local like minded, wine loving people. These people have usually attended a few other wine tasting events and will be glad to show you the ropes. They’ll tell you what to do, how to taste the wine and possible learn to make your own wine. So make sure you’re open to meeting lots of people because that’s exactly what you’ll do at an expert wine tasting tour.
The one thing you’ll want to keep in mind is that tasting wine takes technique. Typically, wine tasters will eat something bland between tastings to help clean there palate. It is an art form to be able to note the various differences in wine.
Traditionally the seven steps to sampling wine are: see, sniff, swirl, smell sip, swish, and spit. Whereas today these tasting methods safer than in the past.
There is also the fact that many wines taste a bit different when taken in small sips rather than mouthfuls. So the best way is to sip allowing the wine to be heated up. Some tasters then swish and even gargle a bit because taste buds are all over in the mouth and then spit or swallow.
