Diabetes during pregnancy is one of the most common problems faced by women and is caused due the abnormally increased hormones that are released from the placenta. This is a symptom, which occurs in most women in the second or the third trimester of pregnancy, however, like other problems it also vanishes after the delivery.

Throughout your pregnancy, you should try to keep your blood sugar level under control, by checking your insulin level at regular intervals and if required, alter your diet pattern to bring the sugar level within the normal range. This problem can be treated with a little care and planning. Proper and nutritious diet plays a very important role in treating diabetes during pregnancy. The food of pregnant woman should be high in nutrition, especially Iron, and low in fat. Intake of caffeine should be reduced to minimum during pregnancy.

Pregnant women should also follow a regular exercise routine, like walking, swimming, or cycling, as it helps in keeping the blood sugar level under control. If these do not help, then you should consult a doctor immediately and seek proper medication to bring the insulin level under control.
